CHINA KITCHEN · FOUR-CITY LAUNCH

One city. One flavour. One living museum.

The market is not an opening act: it is the cultural scene itself. Begin in Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai or Chongqing, read the city's produce and relationships, then cross into the kitchen and turn observation into a meal you helped shape.

About this journey

Chengdu reveals itself one ingredient at a time.

Beyond hotpot and pandas, Chengdu’s everyday rhythm lives in neighbourhood markets: baskets of seasonal greens, jars of fermented chilli bean paste, fragrant citrus peel and the friendly exchange between familiar vendors and home cooks.

Accompanied by a local food host, you will shop for the day’s ingredients, decode the building blocks of Sichuan flavour and hear how seasonality and balance shape the Chinese table. Then step into a welcoming kitchen to chop, stir-fry and share the dishes you create.

This is not a wellness treatment or a staged cooking show. It is a relaxed, hands-on window into local life — designed for curious travellers who want to understand Chengdu through the people who feed it.

Inside Yulin

A market morning, told in four movements.

The experience follows the same rhythm as a Chengdu home cook: arrive with a plan, listen to the people behind the counter, choose what looks best today and let the ingredients shape the meal.

Arrive

Begin in the neighbourhood

Meet your host where Yulin wakes up: beside corner shops, breakfast counters and the steady traffic of local life.

02
Listen

Read ingredients through stories

Seasonal vegetables become a way into Sichuan taste — what is tender now, what carries aroma and what belongs in today’s wok.

03
Choose

Shop with your senses

Look, touch and compare. The day’s basket is not pre-staged; it is built from produce selected together in the market.

Cook

Turn the basket into Sichuan flavour

Move into the kitchen, build aroma before heat and turn the morning’s produce into a shared Sichuan lunch.
